I am a senior Consultant Physician practising Internal Medicine in Kolkata since my return from the UK in 2005. I did my MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata in 1989 and my MD in General Medicine from IPGME and R (SSKM hospital), Kolkata in 1995. In the same year, I passed DNB (Medicine) successfully. I went to the United Kingdom and completed my MRCP (UK) in 1997. Then on, I entered into a 5 year Specialist Registrar rotation training programme under the Wessex Deanery in South England. I was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in General (Internal) and Geriatric Medicine and enrolled myself into the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (UK). I worked as a Consultant in Medicine in the Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust for nearly one and a half years before I returned to India.

I practice General (Internal) Medicine to the core with no special predilection for any sub-speciality. So, I cover a wide gamut of diseases and conditions ranging from cardiological to rheumatological. My view towards a patient is holistic and comprehensive. I do lend a patient ear in getting history and use my clinical acumen to examine patients thoroughly. I spend a reasonable time in explaining a patient his or her problem in simple understandable language and counselling him or her re: the investigations, treatment and its expected outcomes. I try to keep myself accessible to my patients re: reports and interim problems.
